2008-07-07 10:58 AM letter Twenty to my Muffin Hi, Muffin.
I’m a day late, and I’m sorry, dear Muffin. Noni’s had a little bit of a rough week. I sat down last night to write to you, and I couldn’t find anything to say. I thought about how nice it would be to sit in Mama’s glider and cuddle you close for awhile. I thought about how nice it is to be alive to do that. See, Muffin darling, there may be circumstances that require you to act quickly, almost on instinct. Instinct is when your gut talks to you, and I’ve always thought the best thing to do is to listen to your gut. Because of the things that have happened this week, I’m re-evaluating that line of thinking. I’ll let you know what I come up with. I wish I had some words of wisdom to impart today, but the truth is Muffin, I don’t. I seem to be all out of wise words, opinions, and general chit-chat. Once in a while (well, it’s more often than that, if you want to know the truth) Life will whap you upside the head with a Lesson of some sort, and in the midst of your reeling head, you’re supposed to make some kind of sense of it. I’m not doing so well with that right now, but you know Noni. “Never give up – never surrender.” (Ask Mama what movie that’s from – it’s one of her favorites.) At any rate, I’ll check in with you next week, and hopefully I’ll have the final chapter in the Magic Brownie story ready for you. In the meantime, keep growing, keep safe, and keep healthy. A lot of people are depending on you to do just that, and I’m the first in line. I know it’s a big responsibility (believe me, I know. I think it’s part of the Lesson whapped upon me) but I know you can do it. I love you Muffin, very, very much. <3 Stuck for words? Visit WordWebbing, spinning words for any occasion.
