2008-07-14 9:02 PM monday came and went so fast! How many tickets did I buy for this roller-coaster? I keep thinking next time I’m going for the cotton candy. Heh.
**** I’ve been up to my armpits in it. As hard as the first stage was, the next one is, well, not harder but more labor intensive. Time consuming. Throw in a job, a laptop that needs to be reformatted (my external drive is packed away, I really need to get it out) and various and sundry crisis and you are looking at a woman on the edge. The good news is, I’m loving most parts of it, there’s an end in sight, and I refuse to lay down and quit. I just. Plain. Refuse. And I have to say, my partner in crime has got a Bionic Clicky Finger. Lordy, that woman rocks. She’s kicking ass and taking names, and I love her to pieces. **** So, the good news…the Withered One underwent her first new chemo treatment today. Her bloodwork was stellar; platelets, RBC’s and WBC’s were all in the great range, meaning she’s starting out on a good foot. The drug they’re giving her takes up less time, and the name of it makes me think of Momma standing in the classic superhero pose, hands on hips and cape blowing in the wind, in tights with gold bracelets on her wrists. YOU KICK ASS, WOMAN. I can never express in words my love, my admiration, and my thankfulness that she’s my Momma. **** My Momma always taught me to be grateful for what I have and to stop whining about what I don’t (okay, maybe I’m still learning.) She has taught me that Life will often Suck, but it’s all about the mindset. She taught me it’s about the journey, not the destination. I am truly a better person because of her, and I just hope someday I am half the woman she is. **** Along my travels, I happened upon an article about what it takes to be a writer, by Jonathan Crossfield. It is, without a doubt, one of the best articles I’ve ever read. Check it out, leave him some comment love, and pass it along. For every one who has ever wanted to be a writer, dreamed about being a writer, or considered an actual career as a writer, this is a must read. **** To all my friends and loved ones that are going through tough times (we do seem to be on a similar cycle, don’t we?) just because I’ve been scarce doesn’t mean I don’t hold you close to my heart every single day and wishing you all good things. True friends are rare and precious, and I appreciate every single one of you so much. YOU are what makes this journey fun and bearable. Thanks for hanging with me. <3 Stuck for words?
