I never told you about the Return of the Prints, did I? The photos are back. Marion Ettlinger sent me 8 to choose from. (Out of the hundreds she took.) I think the one I selected is terrific but some of my friends hate them all, saying they don't look like me. (Which is kind of too bad, seeing as how the woman in the picture I chose, who doesn't look like me, looks so good.) Some of the ones I didn't choose are a little scary-looking, but I can see why they're wonderful photos. I'm just not comfortable using them. The one I picked is the most simple and straightforward, looking right into the camera. There were two more that were in the running. The rest would have made me feel very pretentious. They're very Author-y. But some writers want that. What I wanted was a photo of a serious writer who could have written this serious book. I'm not ready for any Art beyond that.
