off to the races

I'm off to pack for my trip, having just gotten home from a three hour session meeting. But I just checked my e-ticket, and I leave at 1:00 p.m. rather than 11 a.m. like I had remembered. Cool! That's the temporal equivalent of finding a 20 in your pocket.

But here's the highlight of my day--after the meeting the clerk of session (wonderful vivacious woman, in her late 40s?) comes up to me and says, "Hey [RM], do you know anyone who'd be interested in a ticket to the U2 concert in October?"

Uh, yeah, um, ME!

She bought two tickets when they originally went on sale, but her daughter can't go and her husband doesn't want to. Then she's worried because the ticket price is steep. I tell her if it's less than what they're going for on Ebay, she has herself a date.

You cannot even imagine the exuberance with which I am dancing the happy dance right now.

I should have internet access through Sunday, and beyond that I don't know... but I will say adios, just in case.
