christmas top ten

Top ten reasons why the reverendbaby did not come on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day:

10. Deference to her Lord and Savior.
9. Mother did not have access to a donkey, or a need to travel to her husband's town of origin for a census.
8. Decided that Christmas dinner—ham with brown sugar/mustard glaze, wild rice pilaf with pecans and cranberries, mashed sweet potatoes, spinach casserole, homemade rolls, waldorf salad, potato salad, deviled eggs and cheesecake—would taste much better filtered through a placenta than it would as breastmilk.
7. To give her big sister one last chance to rule the Christmas roost.
6. She knows her parents will not be able to afford the therapy bills brought about by being a PK with a Christmas birthday.
5. She was a little freaked out by all the noisy toys C got for Christmas this year.
4. Was not a fan of the hand-me-down “Santa suit” a member of the church gave her.
3. Likes the incongruity of family and friends receiving holiday letters/birth announcements on Christmas tree paper in mid-January.
2. To ensure that the parody of “Once in Royal David’s City” that her mother was writing in honor of a Christmas birth would never see the light of day.

and the #1 reason why the reverendbaby did not come on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day:

1. To prove that the wisdom of a fetus surpasses that of the polltaking masses on the internet.
