The article quoted below speaks for itself. No comment necessary (though I highlighted one paragraph):

KERRY LESBIAN REMARK ANGERS CHENEYS

By Tom Vanden Brook, USA TODAY

Vice President Cheney and his wife reacted angrily to John Kerry mentioning their lesbian daughter during the final presidential debate, a reference that touched off a round of accusations Thursday.

Kerry, the Democratic presidential nominee, said his comments were meant to be positive about families with gay children.

The Cheneys saw it differently.

"You saw a man who will do and say anything to get elected, and I am not just speaking as a father here, although I am a pretty angry father," Cheney said at a rally in Fort Myers, Fla.

During Wednesday's debate, Kerry referred to Mary Cheney when asked whether homosexuality is a choice. Mary Cheney, who is openly gay, runs operations in the vice president's campaign office.

"We're all God's children," Kerry said. "And I think if you were to talk to Dick Cheney's daughter, who is a lesbian, she would tell you that she's being who she was. She's being who she was born as. I think if you talk to anybody, it's not a choice."

After the debate, Lynne Cheney ripped Kerry. "This is not a good man," she said. "Of course, I am speaking as a mom, and a pretty indignant mom. ... What a cheap and tawdry political trick."

Kerry said Thursday that he meant no offense.

"I love my daughters. They love their daughter. I was trying to say something positive about the way strong families deal with the issue," he said in a statement.
