Now, at last, I am truly afraid
--for the rule of law
--for the Bill of Rights
--for truth
--for all of us.

And I'm ashamed to be an American, for the first time in my life--and I lived through the "Ugly American" years and the Civil Rights turmoil. Now I am ashamed, that we have elected an incompetent, imperialistic, homophobic, fearful, lying, ideologue.

We got the leadership we deserve. I guess that's what America has become: Imperialistic, homophobic, frightened, and incompetent.

It's time to start writing "The Rise and Fall of American Civilization."
