This was sent to me (as an example) by a friend who was bemoaning the intellectual and literacy level of the up-and-coming denizens of the internet.

Im soo bored!!! I just got back from VA cuz i went w/ my dad to get sum part and now im bored...2day was the first day of spring break so i was happy that i didn't have 2 get outta bed early *yay* i woke up @ 11 which was a nice change haha im kinda sad almost everyones gone sumwhere like xxxx so we wont be able 2 talk 4 a little while! dont u just hate it when your friends are having trouble and are sad but theres nothing you can do but sit and watch....=*(

Personally, I'm hoping that the writer's only affliction is an overabundance of callow youthfulness. Decades ago, we weren't exactly paragons of intellectual depth, either. Possibly still not.
