The horrors in Louisana....

The crisis at home....

But life continues on its daily round, and somehow it's quite comforting. I put out the trash cans last night and this morning I can hear the trucks rolling by, emptying them.

The neighbor next door is mowing his lawn.

The cats are patting my leg, wanting to be fed and the dog is, of course, meandering around, in the middle of everything.

There are groceries to be bought, and dishes to be washed and car to be gassed.

The mundane things of life, the usual chores and familiar things, can be wonderful anodynes to the nighttime fears and the daytime worries.
