Holidailies

I seem to remember about this time last year that "Holidailies" were in effect: one pledged an entry every day for a month or something like that. I read a substantial number of interesting posts during that time and was encouraged to write my own.

The result of which is that I try to post every day if at all possible. And you, dear readers, are the lucky (?) recipients of my thoughts and observations. Are Holidailies being done again this year?

I'm reading Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. My writing style may be affected, for better or for worse, for a while. The author has done a wonderful job of telling the story in Victorian style--and don't miss the footnotes! Some of the best humour and sly comments are to be found in them.

Be prepared for a 780-page tome. My wrists are sore from holding it up. Must find a pillow or cushion for a book-rest.

If you tend to lose track of characters, you would be advised to make a list of them as you go along. I had a week hiatus in reading and when I came back, I had forgotten who Childermass was....
