Payday is coming and the computer "glitches" are still not fixed, with the payroll system NOT up and running. Surely The Powers That Be have a fallback plan.... You notice the word "glitch" as if calling it a cute name would minimize the problem itself.

I predicted this would happen, so for several months now I've been putting money into savings to tide me over, but I worry about our entry level employees, most of whom live paycheck to paycheck. Few of them can afford to wait for their money while the Big Boys tinker with the system.

Right up until quitting time yesterday, I was logging into the system and trying to certify payroll. When I called to find out what I was doing wrong, I learned that I couldn't certify what hasn't been input yet. Logical, but scary.

Since there's no access to the system from outside computers, there's nothing I can do about it until Tuesday. I will just have to turn my attention to friends and laundry and cleaning house and reading and STOP FRETTING. Yeah, right.

I do fretting well. I'm a pro.
