Early in the Morning

Up she rises--the sun--while the winds remain calm. Even the cats are quiet, having finished with the early morning crazies (attacking paper bag, pestering the dog) and are somnolent once more. Dog is tuckered out, having sat at attention waiting for the chew I forgot to give her, and is now stretched full length on the floor behind my chair.

Note to self: get dog chew. Insert into dog mouth.

The washing machine is sloshing away out in the garage, though I cannot hear it, so it doesn't break the dawn quiet.

Soon enough, I'll be back out in the hustle and bustle of the day, but for now the morning is as quiet as a nun, breathless with adoration (Wordsworth?) Even the birds are silent.

Well, dear friends, time to re-enter the battle against entropy (in other words, clean the house). I hope you all have an enjoyable day. Go Saints!
