Single Best Advice in the Rain
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

Read/Post Comments (4)

When driving in the rain, the single most accident-preventing advice is to increase your following distance from the vehicle in front of you.

Yes, there are all the others about not using cruise control, backing off your speed, and tapping the brakes occasionally to make sure the pads are dry and operative.

But the worst mistake (and the most accident likely) drivers make is to keep the same distance from the vehicle ahead as they maintain in clear dry weather.

I see it over and over...boom, tinkle, crash...and there's another rearend accident that didn't need to happen.

Please take it to heart, my friends, and drive safely. The 5 or 10 seconds you might save of travel time ain't worth the risk.
