Roll Over, Saturday

Brilliant sunshine, temperatures in the 80's, what's not to like? On a day like today, it's hard to believe that we're still in the dead of winter, at least according to the calendar. Even the two final tomato plants, still very much alive, are producing flowers (I think they're confused as to the season).

I watered the plants with the hose for the first time in months and Jasmine had a great time chasing the water and drinking to repletion and generally getting soaked. She had a great time and acted, for a short time, like a puppy once again.

It seemed a shame to spend the day doing the usual: groceries, laundry, cleaning, cooking, watering the plants, grooming the dog. There ought to be a law that says that beautiful weather means a moratorium on all those bothersome chores. When I am Queen of the Universe, I shall proclaim all such days off-calendar, to be enjoyed to the max, by my royal edict.

But until then, I guess Saturday will continue to be the day of the week for errands and housework.
