In Los Angeles today we are anticipating demonstrations by several organizations meeting in the downtown area:

--Latino Movement USA
--March 25th Coalition
--We Are America Coalition
--MIWON

I have no idea what the demonstrators will be marching for (or against), but they have perfect weather for it.

Community and law enforcement agencies are prepared for large aggregations of people in heavily Hispanic areas, with a huge rally scheduled for 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

There is some talk of high school students walking out of school to join the announced 2 p.m. march on Figueroa Street.

I must say that I'd look forward to a reason to be outdoors on such a beautiful day myself. Oh, yes, I suppose it should be for a noble cause and not just for the sheer beauty of it.

I hope it's a peaceful demonstration, whatever the purpose.
