Let there be peace on earth Pacem in Terra is what is lettered across the front of my tee shirt today. Tee shirts are against our dress code, but I have a jacket I can put on when I go to staff meeting. It's my secret form of rebellion.

I'm astonished at the fact that only one person I've met this morning could translate the words, who knew what the message was. Education ain't what it used to be! Used to be, even non-Catholics had a passing acquaintance with things in the common cultural background we supposedly share.

An uneducated electorate is a gullible electorate. Hence my prayer, Pacem in Terra--and I don't mean the ultimate peace of the grave.

I ask for Peace on Earth in the here and now. Let it begin with me.
