It's the first day of the new year 2009, and I've been trying to formulate in words to clarify a vague sense of what my intention for this new year will be. In order for it to come into reality out of the realm of possibility, I have to create its existence first in words, then in action.

First, the situation: There is no possible way I can change my home situation that would not cause great harm or be destructive.

Second, the possibility: I can change myself. I can change the way I perceive things. I accept that home is the way it is, and I move into the realm of the possible and out of wishing, hoping, for the impossible. I have done this at work in previous years with great success.

Third, my intention: I intend to speak in compassion at home and to act intentionally to bring that compassion to reality (without becoming an enabler).

So let it be.
