Between Rainstorms
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

It's a lovely cool day, bright sunshine glinting off wet grass and pavements, a few wispy clouds in a bright blue sky and nearly no wind.

An interlude between two rainstorms, much appreciate (both the break and the storms themselves). The ground is still soaking up water like a sponge, but these on-again, off-again rains are perfect for rehydration. The grass has started to green up and all the growing things seem much happier.

It's shirtsleeve temperature for those of us who like cold weather, though I see people coming into my office bundled to the ears as if we were in the middle of a blizzard. Obviously they have no idea what truly cold weather is like.

Maybe it's my Scandanavian heritage (or Welsh lineage?) that makes me love the cool weather. Or the fact that I was raised in New England where winters were (and are) often miserably slushy and cold.

The cat bounced outdoors with me when I left for work in the pre-dawn chill, landed in a residual puddle and promptly scooted back inside, complaining vociferously. Not dry enough for her!
