I have just finished reading An Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett. The first thing I did after finishing it was to order two more copies to give to friends. My sincere thanks to the friend who sent it to me.

It is a gem of a novella, worth every midnight/wee hours minute I spent reading it last night. I do not begrudge the sleep when dedicated to excellence.

It's touted as comedy, but it is serious and intelligent as well. Anyone who loves to read and can call him/herself a member of the reading underground will love it.
