Tomatoes

The tomatoes fairly leap out of the ground and stretch their leaves wide to catch all the rays in this mid 70's sunny weather. From one day to the next I can see the growth. Far more exciting than watching grass grow.

The cherry tomato plant has three flowers already; can fruit be far behind?

I'm hoping to get some tomatoes before the hot weather season, when the plants cook in the ground, the leaves shrivel and wilt, and flowers don't set fruit.

If not--if the heat catches us early--well, then, I'll at least have had fun watching the greenery develop.

California tomato dreamin'.
