Making it through the month

At the end of June I said that I would make an effort to yank myself out of the miseries and keep my entries upbeat. Looking back over July, I think I managed it pretty well (got a little snarky toward the end, but couldn't resist).

Focus on the positive was easier, once hubby was admitted into the hospital. It turns out, after all these years of being married, that I like living alone. I prefer it, in fact. Not that I don't love my friends and family, but the serenity of solitude is balm to my soul, heart, mind. Not to mention body.

I would prefer to share my lovely quiet time with a dog, but getting one isn't feasible right now. When I retire, however, there is a four-footed friend (or two) waiting for me. It comforts me to visualize him/her, nose prints on the window, dog fur in the corners, long walks early in the morning, and all.

For August, I will work on visualizing a positive future as well as being present to the joys and sorrows of the immediate Now. I have confidence that it will all work out, somehow.

I intend to live long enough to see it and enjoy it.
