Keeping On Keeping On

I thought mid year 2010 would see big changes in my life (Cardinal Cross and all that). Originally, I had planned to retire. Then hubby became totally disabled and the economy tanked, so I decided to keep on working for another couple of years.

So it feels as though nothing much has changed, at heart. I have a new boss--I've had a series of new bosses, so what's new is really old.

I'm doing the same job, one which I enjoy, always challenging but comfortably familiar at the same time.

Hubby is in hospital, and I'm waiting to see how much he improves (not as much as it seemed for the first few days). I will say that I can't take care of him and try to refuse to take him home without in-home care arranged for, but don't know if I'll be able to stand firm on that. My fear is that come September, it will be back to June's situation. Only hotter.

So, what's changed in this year of supposed big changes, life-altering events, profound revisions of world perspective?

Not much.

Don't misunderstand me. I'm grateful for the respite. But inside, behind the eyelids, it seems to me nothing is really different. It's a great life if you can stay strong.
