A friend wrote me a personal check for $200 on her Chase checking account.

I stopped at the Chase bank branch and submitted the check and requested cash.

They were going to charge me $6 because I'm not a Chase customer!

I asked for my check and driver's license to be returned and the teller said that I had already endorsed the check and made motions with it towards her drawer.

I told her I'd talk to the manager. She returned the check and ID.

Six dollars! That's as bad as the corner check cashing kiosk.
