The Return of the Polar Bear
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

It got down into the 40's last night (Fahrenheit). OK, cold enough for the polar bear (me) to decide that long sleeves and long pants are in order. Today I start digging through the cold weather clothes (sweaters, turtlenecks, heavy weight pants) to have them ready for wearing this weekend and next week.

Ah, but just you wait. The temps will probably soar back into the 90's. The Wondrous Wonderful Weather Website says it will remain cool, but it hasn't been accurate all summer, so why would its predictions prove more trustworthy now?

I'm taking a couple of days off from work. After the last few intensely busy days, it feels very good to be able to do things at my own pace, stopping now and then just to breathe. And be.

Kitty would prefer that I "be" in the bed being company for her, but I have things to do. I can spend just so much time abed and then I have to get up and get going.

I hope I'm never bedridden for long periods of time. It would drive me crazy. Even when I've been extremely ill, I've at least crawled to the bathroom and sat in a chair for a while. Being confined to bed, unable to move, strikes me as being a form of torture.

Lovely, cool, sunny day. Time to be about the day's business. Hope your day is a pleasant one.
