Saw this in Demented Diary, a person went to a Christian store that prints, on site, Bible quotations onto tee-shirts.

The person requested Timothy 2:12. Not being familiar with their own Bible, the employee looked it up to get the exact wording.

And refused to make the shirt, saying that the quotation was offensive. Disrepectful of their religion, I believe was closer to the response.

Timothy 2:12 - I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be quiet.

It is a key passage for churches' positions on women in the clergy--on women everywhere. (Paul's writings, often coming from his own internal problems, corrupted Jesus' teachings, in my opinion).

What was surprising was how quickly the conversation will move from "the absolute revealed Word of God" to "a text written by humans and we can evaluate accordingly" in a situation like this.
