Plan B
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

It's raining pineapples and pumpkins ("cats and dogs" is so 20th century); consequently, it's time for Plan B.

Plan A was to drive 10 miles across town this morning and deposit a check. The nearest branch of my credit union used to be just south on the canyon (going uphill) for me, but they closed that branch and now I have to trek across miles of rain-slick pavement to get to the other one.

Then I was going to stop at my old workplace and visit for a while, maybe take them out to lunch, if they were free.

Nope, Plan B is in effect. I go to the nearest instant teller, pull out the cash I need (paying a $2 fee) and wait for better weather for the other task. It's worth two dollars to me not to have to jostle and slip and slide amongst the other drivers (who seem to think that if it's raining, they're going to melt or the world is coming to an end, or something.)

The cat is standing in the stairway, yowling her displeasure. I guess at the wet stuff? Or at the fact that I'm in the kitchen instead of providing lap time? Who know? Who cares?

The sky is lightening as the sun is higher in the sky. This winter storm will probably be short-lived. It has been a dry winter. So far.

Off to sip coffee and contemplate the whichness of what.
