Equinox (Do I Hear Opportunity?)
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

Today marks the Spring Equinox (and for Batty, the Autumn Equinox) when the 24-hour day is roughly divided equally between light and dark. There's definitely a feeling of spring in the air, as the dark clouds of that last storm have cleared out and we're being treated to brilliant sunshine and cool temperatures.

The garden loved the rain, I guess, because the plants are growing a nice deep green, very healthy, though still not very large. There are blossoms on the tomato plants, so I'm hopeful that another month will see our first tomatoes. The chard is about ready to be thinned, as are the beets.

The peas have those grabby little tendrils reaching for support. I planted bush peas, supposedly not needing staking or support, but these little guys look like they're seeking something to support themselves. We'll see.

If the equinox arrives, can spring cleaning be far behind?
