Thanks to your recommendation, I am in the midst of reading The Warden. It is delightful and full of marvelous wit. Like most Victorian fiction, it is slow developing, but in the development of the story the eye of observer and commentator reigns supreme.

[As you can no doubt observe, my own writing style tends to be influenced, adversely or perversely or the reverse-ly, by what I'm currently reading. Don't know how I would write if I were to peruse a visual (cartooned) novel.]

I highly recommend The Warden. Undertake the reading of it with a nice, well-brewed cup of tea, a scone or two, and plenty of leisure. I peeked ahead at the ending, and I assure you that it is most satisfactory.

Back to Barsetshire and the story of the Warden. See you all later!
