Uh-Oh

Got up nice and early, and, just as the sun was rising, stepped out my front door to take my walk. I'm not back to the time and distance I had before the cold/flu that knocked me on my ass, but I'm getting there.

Wearing a monitor 24/7 that I can check throughout the day has helped me to remain mindful of exercise, food, and sleep patterns and goals. It's too easy for me to kid myself, ignore the obvious, and procrastinate. But I can't argue with electronic measurements.

After I came back I put a pot of coffee on to brew, fed the hummingbirds (how DO such tiny creatures manage to eat so much??) and watered the garden (beet seeds and tomato plants).

And here is where the "Uh-Oh" comes in. When I put the coffee on, I forgot to put the carafe under the drip valve. As I stepped back into the kitchen from the garden, there was a hissing bubbling gritty mess all over the counter, down the cabinet doors and onto the tile floor.

What a waste of good coffee.

My kitchen sink, counter, cabinets and floor are now sparkling clean (coffee is acid and makes a great cleaner). It's only 7:30 and I feel as though I've done a whole day's work.

Time to drink what's left of the pot and pay bills (the first of the month is almost here). Later, gator!

p.s. thanks for your comments on previous posts. solidarity helps.
