Diversification is Good

Booted up the laptop (do we still use "boot up"?) and to my dismay I cannot connect to the household wifi. I was feeling depressed and sad anyway, and the inability to get online nearly sent me back to bed, to hide under the covers and hope it will all go away and everything will be as it was--well and whole and functional.

I now see that saying goodbye to life as it was is going to be difficult. For the first time in my life I could live life on my own terms, not going to work every day answering to boss and customers, not coming home to controlling, negative husband. Enough income for my needs. healthy enough to enjoy my life, what was left of it. Of course, it was too good to last.

I should have known better than to think I had good years ahead of me, not just months, but I am ever the optimist. Was. The universe laughs and trips you up, just when you think things are finally going well.

Since my computer Internet connection is gone, I'm relying on my iPad, which accesses the net via my Verizon account. Diversification is good. The laptop has just become a very expensive solitaire player.

Think I'll go read a book if this cloud over my head will let me concentrate.
