Hot and Humid

In case I was thinking of going anywhere today, taking my walk decided me: I'm staying indoors, hunkered down within touching distance of my air conditioner.

I turned it on this morning and it immediately started to drip water--the humidity is 78%. The high today is only going to 101, but I'll bet with the high humidity it will feel warmer than that.

The feeling that your skin is never really dry is unsettling. You shower, dry off, and minutes later you're sweating again, your body compensating for the ambient temperature.

Have I mentioned how much I abhor this weather? I bought this house in October, the nicest month of the year in this neck of the woods. If I had known what summer was going to be like, I probably would have moved to the coast, bought a shack, and been quite happy there.

Too soon old and too late smart.

Finally managed to get a picture of a hummingbird at the feeder. Posted it on my Facebook page. Don't know how to post it here. (I'm a dinosaur).

See ya later, alligator.
