As excited as I am to be taking the plunge, I'm sure this entry will look pretty bland. Not sure how these things format. Does the subject get interpreted as a Head 1? What font? Why do I care? Because I want to make a good impression, that's why.

I've attended two wunnerful, wunnerful writing workshops in the past month and a half—the Hidden City short story workshop run by Jae Brim and Susan Lee, and the Blue Heaven novel run by Charles Coleman Finlay. A few other denizens of the Hidden City workshop (hi, Greg! Hi, Jenn!) have journals here and told me how easy it is to start one, and everyone at Blue Heaven (hi, Chris!) convinced me it's a good idea to have a site—and if you don't have a site to at least blog about your cat or something. So be prepared for talk about cats. And writing.

I think I'm going to leave it at that, for now. Build suspense. Heighten anticipation. And all that fun stuff.

But if any folks want to give me a few hints about making this place a little spiffier, I'd appreciate it.
