Just checking in, really--still on the countdown to a life. One calculus final and two and a half lab write-ups to go.

In the meme-time, the glorious Jenn has gifted me with the letter "e", and I have yet to come up with my list. I have been thinking about it, though. It's been harder than I expected. "E" is one of those ever-present envoys of the English language, an Energizer Bunny of a vowel, but as the initial engine of expression? Not so much.

Anyway (or enyway), I thought I'd at least start my E-list, and in a nod to my present situation, it'll be a physics-related word. There are many physics-related e-words.

1. Entropy. All the SF readers out there know about this one, right? The heat death of the universe? The state of maximum disorder? I often see myself (and I'm sure I'm not alone) as locked in an eternal (we'll get to that one later) struggle with entropy, from clutter in my immediate surroundings to too many demands making a mess of my daily routine, all the way down to disorder in my thoughts.

But who's to say my attempts to impose order aren't actually costing me energy? (There's another one.) Sometimes I think I should trust the system to come to equilibrium. (Hey, this list is coming together all by itself!) Lack of effort does not necessarily mean loss of initiative. Sometimes it only means conservation of energy for the proper time and the proper use.

In other words, since this isn't too coherent by itself, sometimes I need to just chill out.
