This has been a rough month for me. In an attempt to live forever, I decided to visit doctors for check ups. My regular doctor and my ob/gyn for the girl stuff.
I had blood work done and a mammogram. I have never had one, so it was time.
I had found a small capsule like lump in the center of my chest, near or at least almost in the right breast. I wanted it checked. Well, the lump didn’t show up on ultrasound or mammogram, but 2 “something’s”, 2 cm and 5 cm in my left breast were discovered. I was referred to a surgeon. He did an ultrasound and said they looked like benign cysts. He drained them, 30cc’s of fluid from one and 5 cc’c from the other. He cut out the lump in my right side and it was what he called a lumpoma (sp).
It looked like chicken fat. In fact it was just a lump of harmless fat. I had to wait a week for the results from the fluid removed and yesterday he told me it was benign. Just icky fluid, nothing more. I am relieved.
About 3 days ago, I had a horrible headache; my right eye felt like it was being pushed out of my face. The pain moved into my ear, and down the side of my neck. Coughing, sneezing, bending over, and laying down made it hurt like hell. I made yet another trip to the doctor and he gave me a rx for some very large antibiotic’s. That was yesterday. Today I am not much better. So I have a new theory. If you are not sick and you go to the doctor, you will be sick within a short period of time.
So much for theories. Oh and before I forget, what happens when women take strong antibiotics? Oh the joys of womanhood!

On the work front. I have made a decision. A final, no changing my mind, not PMS induced decision. By the end of July. I am resigning my position as education coordinator. The county expects me to do two full time jobs. I will not do this anymore. They keep putting me off, saying by July we will have it resolved. That was last July. Now it’s this July. I have more patience than anyone I know in certain areas, but this issue has pushed even me to a breaking point. I don’t know what else to do. My current assignment is on the busiest truck for one month and the slowest truck the next month. We call it the floating truck. We are the ones who move from district to district when a unit is out on a call. So for one month we are constantly moving up and down the county. The next month we are sitting at a very slow station. This schedule makes it impossible for me to get any admin work done. I have offered suggestions. Like moving me to a permanent station, one where I have access to my office, then the problem would be solved. I could do my education stuff and still work as a paramedic on the truck. My director didn’t like that suggestion for some reason. So I am over the whole situation. I will finish up the current project and not start another. I will talk to my Director by the 10th of July and resign by the 30th. The thing is the county absolutely has to have an education coordinator. It’s a state rule thing, and right now I am the only one in the county that has the qualifications to do the job. They are going to have to hire someone from the outside to do it. And you can bet they are going to have to pay someone a whole lot more than they are paying me! I am over it.
