me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Frozen bones

Came out of the shower in my hotel in Kanazawa this morning to Ted Koppel's voice with breaking news on CNN. Helicopter shots on the screen of rivers of pedestrians flowing through the streets of NY. As some of you remember, I was in Cuba over Sept. 11th. This seemed like a replay, absolutely froze me. Now, seems to be not as bad as all that, from here. Just a massive power outage covering ten states and a Canadian province. I'm going to continue my report as usual from here, and keep an eye on youse guys. Hope it's all back to normal, soon!
