sjrozan I'm a writer, at work on my 11th book. This blog is a record of random and less-random thoughts. If you want to know more about me, check my website, linked here. I also had a blog going from spring through late fall 2004 about the publishing process for my 9th book, ABSENT FRIENDS. That blog's called "Progress" and you can find the link here. I won't make any more entries but I'm leaving it up in case anyone's interested; the process is more or less the same from book to book. |

2005-01-13 5:39 PM In a fog For many days now, slow, lead-colored river under low, lead-colored sky. Often, rain, sometimes wind. Then today, a sight I haven't seen before: a fog so thick it hid the opposite bank, completely. Bye-bye Jersey City. The effect was intriguing: the water could have been anywhere. I thought of riverfronts and lakefronts I've sat beside: London, Shanghai, Chicago and Milwaukee, even seawalls at times and places where the ocean had no surf: Havana, or Greenport NY. One by one, I imagined those places behind me and their far banks hidden in the fog. Havana was a stretch -- kinda cold. The others flowed right in. I think I'm ready for a trip.
But until this #$!@*! book is finished, I'm sure not getting one. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
