sjrozan I'm a writer, at work on my 11th book. This blog is a record of random and less-random thoughts. If you want to know more about me, check my website, linked here. I also had a blog going from spring through late fall 2004 about the publishing process for my 9th book, ABSENT FRIENDS. That blog's called "Progress" and you can find the link here. I won't make any more entries but I'm leaving it up in case anyone's interested; the process is more or less the same from book to book. |

2005-05-31 10:17 AM Community Supported Agriculture, plus Can We Talk redux I don't know how many of you are in the Atlanta area, but if you are or know anyone who is, you might want to check this out, from my sister, the Transplanted Yankee:
Community Supported Agriculture, a shared commitment between consumers and farmers, is being formed at Davis Farms in Roberta GA. Members or “shareholders” of the farm pledge in advance to cover the anticipated costs of the farm operation. In return, they receive shares of the farm’s bounty throughout the growing season. An added benefit of CSA is knowing where your food comes from and being able to visit the farm. Grower and consumer provide mutual support, with the farmland becoming the community’s farm. CSA's all have at their center a shared commitment to building a more local, sustainable and equitable agricultural system, one that allows growers to focus on land stewardship and still maintain productive, profitable, local farms. Davis Farms is seeking interested groups, families and individuals. They offer organic strawberries, several varieties of tomatoes and peppers, snap beans, collard, mustard, spinach, corn, watermelon, eggplant, cucumbers, onions and an assortment of herbs. The pond on the farm boasts some of the largest catfish in the county. Contact Davis Farms at 478-836-4564 for further information. The phone interview info, again: 10pm est this Thurs. the 2nd. You dial this number: (614) 594-7018 and when prompted key this in: 389685# . David Skibbins will be interviewing me, and you can email questions for him to ask while it's going on at davidskibbins@aol.com . Or you can send him questions now, so he'll be armed. I'll repeat this info on all blog posts between now and then, so don't get irritated if you see it more than once. Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
