sjrozan I'm a writer, at work on my 11th book. This blog is a record of random and less-random thoughts. If you want to know more about me, check my website, linked here. I also had a blog going from spring through late fall 2004 about the publishing process for my 9th book, ABSENT FRIENDS. That blog's called "Progress" and you can find the link here. I won't make any more entries but I'm leaving it up in case anyone's interested; the process is more or less the same from book to book. |

2006-05-04 9:46 AM And while I'm on the subject The Bush administration taking us all for idiots, that's the subject. Another recent article in the NY Times told us that an administration-commissioned study says yes, the planet's atmosphere is warming and yes, human activity is a major factor in that. The administration, though, cautions that this is only the first of 21 planned studies.
Does anyone remember a young basketball player, new to the NBA (his name escapes me right now) who was diagnosed with a serious heart condition and told to stop playing? This was maybe 15 years ago. He went for another opinion, and another. He went to, literally, 12 cardiologists who all told him the same thing. Then he saw another, who said he thought the condition was actually something else, something rarer, harder to diagnose, but not dangerous. So the kid went back to playing. And, again literally, within weeks had a heart seizure on the court and fell down dead. So much for additional studies. Read/Post Comments (6) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
