me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Just back from Roanoke

And I'd never been there before. Was hoping for some serious springtime a week early, but no. Cold and rainy until yesterday, which was sunny and glorious, but still cold. Invited down to read at the Hollins U. Literary Festival, in the company of Charlotte Matthews and Christine Schutt at the invitation of Jeanne Larsen. A few photos up on Flickr. Hollins is a women's college, very strong on creative writing, with men admitted to the graduate program. From what I saw, a terrific group of students, good program, excellent faculty. Had a wonderful time. And the bonus, of course, was that Jeanne Larsen's a friend of mine from long ago. We don't see each other much, but boy, when we do, we never shut up!
