me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Weather!

Fabulous, stupendous, gorgeous storm in NYC! Big swells on the river this morning. The percussion of raindrops on water. Racing dark clouds, and a line of mist across the river. Same two mallards as every morning, on their hurrying way north to feed, helped by the wind though getting back's gonna be a pain. Now, trees bending in the back yards behind my apartment as I write. Neighbor's kitchen storm door blowing and slamming. Buckets of rain smashing against my windows. Sheets of it flowing down the neighbor's slanting skylight. As soon as my word quota's filled, I'm going out again.
