me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Bustin' out all over

Daffodils in the parks, both white and yellow. Pink-and-cream magnolias on the streets, one sheltered south-facing one already going by. The callery pears, those blazing white New York street trees, starting to pop, and the cerise (of course) cherries tentatively beginning, too. Grape irises and wood hyacinths bringing different shades of blue to the lawn by the water. Green fuzz and red fuzz on the trees and shrubs, depending on species. And speaking of species, a wood duck on the river, stopping for a meal on his way north. Sidewalk cafes all open for business, and New Yorkers sitting in them all even though today it's 45 degrees. Spring has for sure sprung.
