me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Public service announcement about Kindle typos

One of my readers got very disgusted with typos in the Kindle edition of REFLECTING THE SKY. He complained to me in a long detailed email (thanks, Rick!) which I passed on to my publisher. Turns out once the publisher sends the book on to Amazon to be Kindle-ized, they have nothing to do with it anymore. Amazon, though, apparently does pay attention to complaints about formatting, and they're easy complaints to make.

"What any reader who notices a problem -- formatting issues, missing pages, etc. -- needs to do is report the problem on Amazon. That is, go to the page for the Kindle edition and go to Feedback near the bottom and, at the link labeled: 'Would you like to report poor quality or formatting in this book?' go ahead and report. It helps because Amazon routinely pulls down and corrects ebooks with complaints, then provides new corrected downloads to all prior purchasers."

Note that last sentence: Amazon will replace your download with one you can actually read. So go ahead and complain, about my ebooks or anyone else's. And while you're waiting for the books to be fixed, you can get yourself seven of my standalone short stories for a very mere $2.99!
