me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

White and blue

Thick white fog bank resting on the river north of me this morning, trailing to the thinnest of mists at my bench. Water where I sat was a bright blue, reflecting a cloudless sky; fog echoed in steam released from the two astonishingly ugly blue glass buildings upriver. Blue and white ferries charged up, down, and across. Can you sense a color theme here? It's like that on the river some days -- certain colors will pop, others fade. The white tent was glowing. White seagulls blinked on and off like lights as they bobbed up and down in blue swells.
