me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Backyard report

Chubby, unscruffy squirrel collecting dinner on the neighbor's patio. Obviously not the one I saw in the tree a few days ago. Seemed very at home, though not pleased with two rather beautiful gray mourning doves who fluttered from branch to branch above him, startling him each time. Or, her. This may be Squeeze. I watched for awhile, hoping whoever it was would head for the nest and maybe be greeted by whomever's in there, if anyone is; but in the end, the chubby squirrel disappeared into the ivy, perhaps to wait until the dove infestation was over.
