Upcoming workshops: "Writing the Books We Like to Read" -- Omega Institute, June 9-14 and
"Crime Writing and Genre Fiction" -- Art Workshop International, Assisi, Italy, July 30-Aug 10

I'm a writer, at work on my 14th book. This blog is a record of random and less-random thoughts. If you want to know more about me, check my website. If you want to take a workshop, see above -- no experience necessary, just a desire to write!

Theater recommendation!

Okay, youse guys, out of your seats -- out of town if you have to -- and head to the Brooks Atkinson for PETER AND THE STARCATCHER. Hard to overstate how fabulous this show is. It's a dozen actors playing dozens of parts on a set made up mostly of lights, ropes, and a couple of flats. It's non-stop but not frantic, the dialogue is funny and the jokes are hilarious, it's got a message moving enough for the kids to but not too sappy for us cynical adults -- it's really just marvelous. And while the whole cast is terrific and each one has a star turn that I could call out, Christian Borle, who plays the pirate who becomes Captain Hook (the play's the Peter Pan prequel) is completely breathtaking. Go -- I'm predicting you'll love it!
