Three Monarchs, waking
As sun strikes tree limb, fly off,
Settle on milkweed.
White clouds drift across
Pale blue morning sky, heading
For striped pink sunrise.
Bounding branch to branch,
Squirrel circumnavigates
Entire leaf-filled yard.
