This past Saturday we finally got rid of the dead hedges and a dead tree; the last reminders of last year's bad drought.

I had previously thought we were going to be able to do this a few weeks ago but quotes for the job were coming in higher than I expected and some other things had come up at the same time, forcing us to wait.

What a difference a few weeks of waiting made! A guy knocked on our door Saturday wanting to do work for us and after hubby talked to him and worked out the details he offered a bid significantly less!

As the work was being done I was almost afraid to look, we didn't know this guy from Adam, and I was just hoping he would do the job right and follow through on the clean up. He did exactly that and as he and his crew left, hubby made arrangements to have him come back in the Fall to do another job for us.

Now I am so excited that I will be able to start putting in the plants that I have long been wanting to put in out front. However it will have to wait a couple months because not only is it getting too hot, I have a couple of must do projects that can't wait, so I will get back to that when the weather is a little nicer to be out and my other projects are done.
