Busy for a while

My morning was fairly busy, once I'd gotten the body to accept the fact that it had to make a decision between sleeping and functioning. I started by trying to sort of sort out the junk stuff that came home from the hospital and--by extension--my trip. I didn't really accomplish much, but it's in neater piles now.

The home health lady arrived to fill out paperwork and do the medical evaluation. She changed the dressing on the long incision and also did something very soothing to the area around the tailbone with sheet burn. She also told me that my landline phone wasn't working. Good thing--I'd never have know it otherwise. So, I called in the phone repair.

Less than two hours later I heard the dogs having hysterics, and it was the phone man. He worked around for quite a while and was effectively blocking the driveway when YD arrived with my prescription drugs. I don't think she'd been gone 15 minutes when the pet sitter arrived. She was busy getting the cats' dinners ready when there was a knock at the door. I figured it was the phone man, but it was my trash pick-up man. I asked him in while I found the correct checkbook. I pay him twice a year, and this was the time. Things finally settled down, everyone left, and phone was once again working.

And I managed to get comfortable enough on the couch that I could watch the football game through my eyelids. My busy part of the day is probably over--if I get really bored I can toss some laundry in the washer. But I'm back at home with a bunch of unread books!
