I got rained on today as I was driving home. And it was a fairly severe storm we all drove through. It was raining so hard the traffic speed was down to 60 mph--the so-called speed limit. However, by the time I was out of the city and heading for the bridges the rain was gone. The only effect it has had on the North Shore is to make it a tad bit cooler.

Since a couple of weeks after Katrina the parish has been under a burn ban for all but about a month total. The parish president even banned fireworks. (I'm assuming public ones aren't included.) We really need a good heavy rain.

I had a productive day at work. It was very quiet--I think it's between summer mini-semesters. On the other hand, there's not a lot of traffic on campus.

I was going to say that today is the longest day of the year, but almost every day has the same amount of hours. (Leap years sometimes have an extra second.) It is the day with the most daylight.

You know what? Today was another Incredibly Unremarkable Day.
