I went to the doctor this morning--appointment at 7:30 (am)--and he injected my right knee with a steroid. Oh my oh my. Within an hour I was walking NORMALLY! No limping, even steps, etc. Hope this stuff lasts a long time.

Oh yeah--and about a 90% reduction in stair-climbing (and de-climbing) efforts/discomfort. I may call his office tomorrow and send him a message about how well that worked.

I am now nice and legal when it comes to my car inspection. After the doctor I killed about 30 minutes at PJ's, then went over to the inspection station. There were only four cars ahead of me, but I had half a cup of coffee and a novel to read. Next project is getting the Jimmy over there. Its last inspection was in 2005 (or maybe 2004). The car has been idle since late 2005, but after I jumpered it a week or so ago I know it can be operated. Next step will be to drive it around the block a bit so I get the "feel" of it again. Then get it inspected and sell the *%#@*!! thing.

This afternoon YD came by and hooked up my new 17" flat screen monitor. Actually, it takes up very little extra space on my overcrowded card table, and it is really, really nice. Much more of a document/page shows, and it doesn't run off the edges. It's also brighter and clearer. While she was here she got my networking router reconnected properly. So, I can be online in the den or dining room if I want. (Or out on the porch, etc.)

Since I didn't go in to work today, tomorrow will be a work day. At least the weather has cleared up a bunch so I don't have to outguess rain and fog.

And did you note--the SuperBowl MVP is from New Orleans? I think it's safe to say that Indianapolis was getting all the cheering from Katrinaland.
